About the Artist
Born in 1956 in Hertfordshire, practising for twenty years on the island of Jesery, and now living and working in London.
Christine Westwood-Davis studied at the Royal College of Art and is an early adopter of digital drawing. Combining Technology with textiles and fibre work, she produces work at the nexus of technology and modes, which have historically been considered women's work, challenging our perceptions of the oppposing mediums. Christine continues to study at the Royal Academy of Arts, London, exploring the tradition of historical life drawing through a contempory textile lens.
Her work has been features in solo and group exhibitions at The Arts Centre, St Aubins Gallery and St Thomas' Gallery in Jesery, as well as the 2025 Summer Exhibition at the Royal Academy of Arts.
About the Exhibition
On display in our Gallery there are minature carefully observed scenes of the French Riveria which were constructed in thread. Christine used a sewing marching as her drawing tool, and then added colour using fabric dies which gives a water colour effect.
